DescriptionBuff earthenware body, white slip, three colour (green, brown, yellow) lead glaze with some streaking. Hollow body unglazed on the inside. Tomb figures were placed inside tombs of the ancient Chinese not only to glorify & enhance the beauty of the tomb chamber but also to serve & protect the dead master as their real life counterparts had done on earth. Large Bactrain camels of this tape are quite rare & symbolize the bringing of trade goods along the silk road to China.
